15th Annual In the Pink Northeast Luncheon – Raises Money for Project Mammogram
“Pop of Pink” luncheon theme to bring awareness, raise funds, and make an impact.
The 15th Annual In the Pink Northeast Luncheon will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024. This fundraising and awareness luncheon is always held on the third Friday in October, National Mammogram Day, and benefits Project Mammogram. As the 2022 and 2023 luncheons sold out quickly, this year’s luncheon will accommodate 700 guests at the The Humble Civic Center!
This year’s In the Pink luncheon efforts are led by four amazing women in our community: Chairs: Amanda Petree, Suzanne Burch, Sabrina Carr and Past Chair: Megan Waldrop. Under their leadership, luncheon guests will enjoy a complimentary champagne reception, boutique shopping, raffle and bid board upon arrival, followed by lunch and a very special program ALL in a beautifully decorated POP of PINK ballroom. The theme this year is Pop of Pink – More than a luncheon as In the Pink is more than a one-day luncheon, it is a year-round community effort lead by over 50 outstanding committee members and community partners through Partners in Pink, Breast Health Education Events and Project Mammogram. The Cochairs who have served In the Pink since the very first In the Pink in 2008 will be honored at this year’s luncheon: Lynette Calfee, Corinn Price, Devon Alexander, Nancy Shortsleeve, Cynthia Calvert, Cristi Cardenas, Tom Broad, Carol Prince, Casey Christman, Theo Christman, Megan Waldrop and Peggy Dvorsky.
Project Mammogram was founded in 2001 with an initial donation from the Kingwood Women’s Club and exists to decrease the incidence of late-stage breast cancer diagnosis through outreach, education, early detection, preventative diagnostic screenings, and other services. This ongoing program of the Northeast Hospital Foundation has served over 11,000 residents in the greater Lake Houston area since inception, providing an average of 600-800 procedures per year with an average of 6-12 cancers detected per year. The Foundation is committed to improving the health and well-being of the local community – Saving many lives and bringing peace of mind to many more.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, and early detection through mammography and screenings can greatly increase the chances of successful treatment. However, many women lack access to these crucial services, especially those who are uninsured or underinsured. Project Mammogram strives to bridge this gap by providing free to
the patient mammograms, breast exams, and diagnostic services to women (and men) in need. If you, or someone you know, need the help of Project Mammogram, call 281-540-6443.
The In the Pink Northeast Luncheon is an opportunity for the community to come together and support this important cause. By attending the event or making a donation, individuals can help ensure access to life-saving breast cancer screenings. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. We’ll see you there, in PINK!
